3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy and bitter hops with some caramel malt notes is OK. Taste is a mix of citrusy and resinous hops with bitter hops and some caramel malt. Body is full with good carbonation. Old school IIPA with too much caramel malt and bitterness.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
750 ml bottle. Pours a veiled golden pale amber with a resilient white head. Aroma is fruity, rather malty. Flavor is caramel, grapefruit. Finish is loads of grapefruit, lime, lemon, strong bitterness. Some hints of resin. Full body, average carbonation. Strong, but good ; a hearty IPA.

bottle 7.5%. Poured cloudy medium-amber with a large yellow/off-white head. Citrusy grapefruit aroma. Medium body, creamy carbonation with a sticky finish. Bready malt, peppery and piney notes, oak and rye flavours.

I'm sort of surprised at the disparate ratings below. Not much hop aroma but nice brown sugar/caramel/honey malt. Sweet and slightly fruity, orange marmalade, with some nice resinous hop bitterness. Solid.

750ml bottle. Hazy amber with a frothy off-white head. Flavors are sweet cereals, spruce gum, grapefruit and alcohol with grassy and dank notes. Medium body, moderate carbonation, oily texture.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750ml bottle from LCBO. Slightly hazy golden-amber body, medium beige head with excellent retention, plenty of lacing. Classy British IPA aroma with a spicy kick: lots of caramel malt, herbs, honey, cookies, peppercorn, pear brandy. Taste is a little harsher: lots of herbs, wormwood, pine needles, some caramel. Somehow unidimensional.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
a fresh piney nose with bready malt. The taste profile features some piney hops and a mixture of fruit, including citrus, berries and maybe melon. The malt is very soft, sweet and bready - not a bad thing for an IPA. The body is a bit thin, though and I wouldn’t mind a little more richness for a iipa.

A step up from the IPA. One step. At this point, I suspect the water supply in St Thomas. It had a very cool painted label. I was so very hopeful

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
750 ml from LCBO. Pours an amber orange colour with thick off-white head. Aroma is caramel, butterscotch. Taste is same plus mild hops. Decent, but far from the best of its style.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
7.5%abv, 750ml bottle. Pours a clear, copper/caramel with a two finger, fluffy, off white head that sticks around. Aroma has moderate notes of floral citrus, pine, resin, and a touch of bready caramel. Taste is bitter. Slightly floral but a bit too bitter with not enough flavour. Hints of resin, pine, and citrus. Medium body and carbonation. Slightly resiny texture. Overall too bitter without other flavours to back it up.
