COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Iron Spike Blonde introduces itself with an antique gold colour accentuated with a generous white foam. Nose of honey, spicy, lemon zest and citric hops, some biscuit malt, a nice peach/tropical fruit profile as well. On the pallet the beer enters with a hint of sweet fruit upfront (peach, pear mostly), followed by lemon, some mild hops, and sweet grains. It has a floral aftertaste, similar to that of rose petals. Lots of pretty spider web lace left behind from the head, and good retention. Medium body with a sweet fruit finish, nicely balanced by moderate thoughtful hopping."

4.3 % alcohol by volume, IBUís 15.9

Pours a clear yellow brew with a small head and ok lacing. Aromas of passionfruit and florals with a light malt background. Sweet up front malts balanced with a decently bitter finish. Well rounded blond ale for the style.

Can from the LCBO. Transparent golden body with a creamy white head. Notes of wood, honey and some Vienna malt qualities. Low carbonation, low percieved bitterness.

473 mL. Pours blonde (duh?) with a cap of white foam. Crackery/biscuity malt and a hint of earthy citric hop. Cereal sweetness with a touch of hops to balance. Light to moderate body, moderate carbonation. Not a bad lawnmower-type beer, but dull.

Odd sized bottle hand carried home by Eric S, thanks for the share! Golden copper color with very thin head. Aroma is light sweet bread and mild fruit like pears.

The flavor is simple and straight forward. Sweet grain, honey and light hints of butter. Faint hop in the finish. Carbonation is mildly effervescent with a light body. Drinkable.

Can - Sweet bready malts and light citrus. Clear gold with a decent white head. Sweet biscuit malts and some grains. Well done typical blond.

473 mL can from the LCBO. Pours a transparent dark yellow with a head that disappears quickly. Cereal aroma. Typically ale-like flavour. Fairly long, pleasant finish. Nothing remarkable about this ale at all. However, it's only 4.3% alcohol so it gets points for good flavour with the reduced alcohol content. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from can. Medium golden colour. Sweet bread, toast, with slight vanilla aroma. Medium size frothy head that lasted. Sweet malt flavour with a bit of honey. Slight bitterness. Well rounded. Retained thin head and lacing throughout. Not what I was expecting from a blonde style, but I rather enjoyed this.

500ml can. Pours a fairly clear golden blonde colour with a snow white head. Has a sweet malty aroma with some corn syrop and some leafy hoppy notes. On the palate it is medium bodied has a fast finish and medium carbonation. Its flavours are dull and muted but there is this vanillin or corn like quality that Iím digging. It may have had issues during the ferment or something. Not very good.

Freebie from guy at railway booth at Tall Boys beer carnival pours apple juice yellow with a frothy cap. Taste is better than expected (& better than what the ratings here would tell you). Itís a crisp brew: mild, brisk & a tad floral. Goes really well with the salty potato chips I have on the go.

Poured into a glass from 473ml can. Pours a nice gold with a tan head. Aroma is smokey, hard to get anything else. Could be the brewer isnít cleaning the electric elements in the boiler well enough, but I like it. A bit odd for a blonde. Flavour is malty and smokey with a hint of citrus. Finish is smooth and slightly sweet.
