COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Iron Spike Blonde introduces itself with an antique gold colour accentuated with a generous white foam. Nose of honey, spicy, lemon zest and citric hops, some biscuit malt, a nice peach/tropical fruit profile as well. On the pallet the beer enters with a hint of sweet fruit upfront (peach, pear mostly), followed by lemon, some mild hops, and sweet grains. It has a floral aftertaste, similar to that of rose petals. Lots of pretty spider web lace left behind from the head, and good retention. Medium body with a sweet fruit finish, nicely balanced by moderate thoughtful hopping."

4.3 % alcohol by volume, IBU’s 15.9

A hazed golden ale, over-carbonated and gushing, with a super thick frothy lacing white head. In aroma, sweet grassy malt with light berry notes and soap. In mouth, sweet honey malt with light acidity, unpleasant and showing signs of infection.

Plastic bottle really. Neutral aroma, a tad malty. A little head. Pale blond colour. A malt storey, fine lightness, with a little local H- hop. Carbonation is there and its appropriate. Caramel. A little lace.

Bottle from the LCBO. Pale golden pour. The nose is slightly grainy with loads of green apple. Acetaldehyde, DMS and little but flaws. Wow - this is truly awful.

2008-05-01. Orange amber body with a small quick off white head. Sweet bready malt aroma, light hops, brief sweet hint of fruit or white grapes? (6+) Similarly sweet malty flavour, just enough bitterness to balance things nicely. (6+) Palate is slightly more full bodied than average, pleasantly so. (3+) On the mild side of the flavour spectrum, but a pretty solid first effort. Nice job. Growler courtesy of MrManning

Bottle,  brought & shared by Robbie from Kingston. Hazy golden, medium white head. Aroma and palate of ripe pears and soft melon, lightly phenolic. Very nicely fruity, lighter palate without being thin. Nice.

Appearance: Carbonated gold with hint of amber , creamy mid plus head.
Nose: Mild nose , hoppy , dusty feel with slight malt underlying.
Flavor/Palate : Medium light bodied. Soft creamy texture , fairly bland. Some hop feel at finish. Forgettable brew with some refreshing qualities.

Growler. Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc and tupalev, courtesy of MrManning. Pours hazy amber (yep, amber), smallish head. Sweet bready aroma, hint of floral hops and graham crackers. Very fresh-tasting, doughy sweet caramel malt, mildly roasty, quick sweet finish. Average chewy body; refreshing, quite sessionable --- not really a "blonde"

Growler shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & tupalev -- courtesy of MrManning. Pours a clear bubbly orange-copper with an average size diminishing white head. Nice, fresh aroma of caramel malt, light floral hops and some sweet biscuit or bread. Flavour of caramel malt, lightly sweet along with some fruit, toffee and a light bitter finish. Medium bodied. Well done, a good debut for this brewery -- I would gladly order this.

[1629-20080823] Tap. Bit of grainy plastic aroma. Clear, light orange brown body with quick foamy white bubbles. Grainy flavour has slightly sour notes. Light-medium body is rough. Fair.

Can: Poured a bright golden color ale with a medium size white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of unrefined cereal notes with lightly sweet notes. Taste is also a mix between some grainy cereal with light unrefined notes with a lightly sweet finish. Body is above average for style with good carbonation. Fairly middle of the road offering though the beer description is a bit over the top compared to the results.
