Our tribute to the original buildings of Raleighís own Shaw University, built with red clay bricks that students made by hand. Our handcrafted House of Clay IPA is robust as they come. Four different hops are front and center with the rye bringing it all home in a clean, slightly spicy finish. Dry hopped for 5 days for a nice hoppy nose.

had at a share .. . got dirty rye and cereal, light dried grass .. medium feel and a rushed finish .. not quite gellin .. . . You donít know anything about society, Marie; you donít have the satisfaction of avoiding it.

Spicy piney hop aroma. Taste is malty with the rye spice, almost peppery, with a dry bitter finish. Well made and a fairly nice beer just not a huge rye IPA fan. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber from Carrboro Beverage, 4/7/15. Hazy orange, large creamy white head. Good retention. Aroma of rye, caramel, toasted malt. The taste is bitter rye, citrus hops. mild resin, toasted caramel malt. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild lingering bitterness.

9/16/14. Bomber. Pours hazy orange with a nice sticky head that slowly dissipates. Light citrus nose. Strong hop profile on the dark heavy side. Doesn't build up in the mouth though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Out of a bottle poured to a hazy orange color with a 1/2in white head. Complex flavor that gives you different hop tastes up front and at the back. Very good beer from a great NC brewery!

Bottle from Samís Quik Shop. Pours orange with an inch of white foam. Leaves a lot of lacing in the glass. Has a fair amount of rye on the nose. Some solid citrus notes on the tongue. Finishes clean. Solid but not amazing for style.

Bottle from JCB. The pour is a muddy light brown color with a thin head on top. At first I did think of pond water but itís more inviting than that. Rye is certainly noted in the scent right away along with grass, caramel, and resinous hops. Tastes good; definitely a pretty strong spiciness to this, as evident in the aroma. Dry and bitter in the finish. Lightly sweetened by some caramel malt but thatís trumped by the spicy bitterness. Citrusy hops with also some resin flavor too. This flirts with being too heavy, for a non-Double IPA, but never seems to get there. Good but not great.

22oz bottle, shared by b3shine. Hazy orange color. Thin rocky khaki off-white head. Splotches and dots of lace. Medium to bigger body. Pretty full, with a soft carbonation. Lightly dry. Grapefruit, spicy hop / malt, some metallic. Big bitterness. Maybe a hint of tartness? Taste like this might be an older bottle with a possible super-mild brett thing happening, but still I enjoyed this. Nice big rye component, good big bitterness. Some more sweet comes out as it goes..

Bomber to tulip (shared by me; thanks Geoff). Looks good; a translucent burnt orange with foamy off-white head. Smells of hops, spice, and pale malt, but blandly so. I get a touch of iron too. Tastes like it smells with a bit of a rye presence on the tongue. Alright.

On tap at Tylerís, Durham. Bright orange pour, healthily carbonated, slight sedimental haze which appealed in the sunshine. Very bright and fruity nose, not the modest spice I expected but that suits me just fine. Some hints of grass and spice in the taste, but dominated by elegant, well-realized fruit notes. Enjoyed it.
