COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Den Dorstige Tijger is an India Pale Ale. An IPA is a traditionally heavily hopped beer. Hop used as preservative on long boat trips is a Dutch invention. The English copied this trick with much success. This tiger will quenche your thirst again and again. One leg in the past and one in the present. Pure, soft and balanced.

Bottle at home. Hazy copper pour, thin white head. Aroma of rye, floral hops, some citrus hops, slightly spicy and fruity with a bit of yeast. Flavor is bitter and quite some rye. A bit rough but well drinkable.

Bottle. Wow. This one is bitter. Very bitter and very dry. Some fruit hints but mostly it’s bitter. Nice one but could be less bitter.

The beer has a nice IPA look. The color of the beer is a beautiful dark orange amber. The beer is extremely cloudy. Its impossible to look trough the beer. The beer pours a little amount of rough white foam. The smell of the beer is nice. There are some delicious earthy and grassy hop notes. This gives the beer a nice fresh aroma, which is perfect for the sunny weather of a good summer day. There is also a little toasty touch to the smell, which gives a nice little contrast to the fresh hop notes. The taste has a massive bitterness. There are all kinds of delicious hop flavors. There is again this nice earthy and slightly fruity hoppy IPA flavor. The IPA is good, but is is slightly less hoppy than most IPA’s.The aftertaste is slightly to bitter. It gives the finish a little bit of a dry aspect.

A dark yellow, cloudy beer with a lot of depot. It has a fluffy and foamy layer of foam. The aroma is apple-like sour thanks to the centennial hop, but it has a hint of something sweet like red fruit on the background. It tastes quite bitter, and leaves a dry palate. Surprisingly enough, in the end the hint of the red fruits return for a moment...

Draft @ GBBF 2015. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity piney hoppy citrus aroma. Fruity malty citrus hoppy piney flavor. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy bitter finish.

Many thanks to Beerhunter111 for sharing this bottle! Smooth grainy beginning. The body is quite neutral-grainy, the hops are bitter but not too floral. The Best Before is 6 month to go, so I assume the bottle is not too old. No floral hops, grain in the aftertaste, harsh and not too interesting bitterness. Not round or easy to drink. Sad.

Thuis. Erg kruidig en een geparfumeerde citrusachtige zweem die me niet zo bevalt. Backlog from 2015/07/06.

Murky brown colour with a pink-ish head. Smells like a stale IPA, with some extra notes of artificial strawberries. The taste is also stale, with sweet pine and some hints of strawberries, on top of an almost-medicinal type of bitterness. I’m thinking I might have had a bad bottle, or something.
