3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Martinus (1777) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2013
Slighly hazy golden colour, off-white head. Aroma of hops, apricot, malts and honey. Quite sweet flavour, malts, light hops. Finish hops and lots of honey.
Feels a bit like an aged IPA to me. I’m quite sure this cannot be the Lambok, due to the lack of sweet dark malty bock character, and eh.. well, the colour, but the people behind the bar were absolutely sure this is the beer they served, even after several enquiries.
(Draught @ Oirschots bier festival 2013)

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 vipinvelp (1156) - Velp, NETHERLANDS - NOV 1, 2012
Dark black with light brown lasting big foam head, lip sticking and glass lacing. Weak aroma, but wow what a tasty beer. Strong bitter hoppy taste with chocolate/toffee present. Long nice bitter aftertaste, a very good beer. (Velp 201011)
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MaartenRF10 (1170) - Wageningen, NETHERLANDS - OCT 22, 2012
Dark, almost black beer with a creamy, lasting light brown head. Aroma is roasted malts and hop, coffee and dark chocolat. Taste like aroma, rather bitter and fresh in comparison with other bock. Wouldn’t call this a bock anyway. It’s more like a stout if you ask me.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 erickok (2282) - Tours, FRANCE - OCT 15, 2012
Dark brown bodied and big creamy tan head. Dark malts, dough, forest and pine hops, classic and hay but very rich and a modern and quality like dark sweetness. A not quite burned caramel, chocolate milk and cinnamon. Taste is rich with an interested sourness, mild spicy yeast and good hop backup. Why is it that Ramses beers always taste so good? No exception here. (33cl bottle from De Bierwinkel Leiden)
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 dutchbeerpages (1072) - Wilnis, NETHERLANDS - JAN 5, 2012
This beer has the weirdest of aftertastes. One of those tastes you are not exactly sure of if you like it or not, but it keeps lingering in your mind. It has some plantlife, some bitterness. I should do a re-rate later maybe. Interesting, nice actually in a weird sort of way.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Benzai (4332) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - DEC 29, 2011
Bottle @ home. Very dark brown colored beer with a solid, decent sized light brown head. Smell malts, roasted malts, caramel, bread. Taste roasted malts, hint of caramel, nicely bitter. Well balanced. Medium carbonation, medium body.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Countbeer (2852) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - DEC 20, 2011
Bottle:
Vast and pretty thick light tan/light brown head, which disappears slow, on top of a really dark brown to black beer. Looks promissing.
Smell is a smooth mix of spices, liquorice, herbs, toasted grains, hint of hops and some bitterness (if it is smellable...)
Taste is nice bitter, not to overpowering but still nicely and smooth dominating. There are also nice hints of spices like vanilla and liquorice, malts, toasted malts, some light caramel and some hops. Nicely balanced, no tastebomb but still very tasty.
A nice bitter and dark fruity/herby aftertaste.
Medium carbo, soft almost silky mouthfeel with a tingly touch, fuller body and a texture between watery and creamy.
Very nice and smooth beer with a good balance in taste as well as the texture and mouthfeel.
