Bottle. Pours a very dark brown beer with a small, tanned head on top. Aroma has some faint licorice, malts and slight cheesy tartness over it. Funny. Flavour is quite bitter, spicey and definitely returns the molasses and licorice to the flavour. Dry finish, medium bodied and light carbonated.. Decent brew not the best porter ever...

(Bottle, In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 23 Feb 2013) Black colour with lasting, foamy, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice. Roasted, malty taste with notes of coffee, dark bread, cacao and a dry finish with a generous bitterness with hints of pine needles. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

Spicy nose with hints of fresh chopped pepper amongst a mostly roast nose. Dark brown but clear body, well turned over sandy head. A real hop roll out through the mid-range, with the tickling carbonation elevating a clean and dry hop ruskiness in balance with a gritty malt base.
The carbo loading really takes this Porter onto a noteable level, clean hop crust with a dry pruney finish. Well worth picking up at the right price.

33cl bottle from Biernavigatie.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Dark brown in colour with a short lived tan head. Coffee and dark chocolate aroma with a touch of leafy hops. Flavour had more roasted malts and chlorate before a dry finish with a hoppy kick. Enjoyable.

Bottle from De Bierkoning, Amsterdam, 03.03.12 consumed at home 04.03.12 Pours black or at the very least extremely dark brown with a light beige head. At first I wasn’t so keen, coming after the Schans Bierkoning Labelles Chocolade Stout the lack of chocolate and sour fruitiness did little to endear me but after a while it grew on me. Fruity with a good tangy sourness, some chocolate touches but not so many, good roastiness and a little harsh dark bitter chocolate. good beer. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5
