UPDATED: JUL 10, 2013 A porter with easy flavors. Coffee, chocolate, nuts with a roasted medium bitter dry finish. Good mellow balance of sweet, sour and bitter, making it quite easy going. Has a nice creaminess to it. But there is something going on I don’t really like. Some sort of acidity that annoys me and ruins the beer.

Black. Foamy beige head and good lacing. Aroma of roasted barley, coffee and pine. Similar taste, with some malt sourness. Refreshing. Dry mouthfeel. Refreshing, with good drinkability.

quite dense light beige that disappears with structured lacing. coffee coloured. aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, yeast, bit spces. taste is hint sweet, countered by the coffee and roasted taste and ends in a dry slightly thin mouthfeel with lingering bitter aftertaste. medium body and carbonation, couldn’t really pick up the galen hops though. bottle 33 cl / bd may-2013

Gedronken vanuit grote fles.

Bottled, 06-12-2011, large sample. Clear dark redbrown color, medium brownish head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, some roasted malts, hint of cherry pits, slight fruity yeast. Bit sweet taste, slight fruity bitter. Quite creamy body initially with some chocolate, later on it dries out a bit leaving the more bitter coffee notes. The fruity aroma seems a bit too much for the roast, but in flavor it gives that fresh and fruity twist to it. Guess the fruitiness is a combination of yeast esters with the galena hop, which usually gives a pineapple sense.
