COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Poolvos is a cunning beer. An ale brewed with hight density and the intention of attenuating it. It’s the small version of IJsbeer. Aroma malts and hop are the main flavourings. The hop was added for 60 minutes.

Veelbelovend aroma, hop, mout en zoethout. Dunne, waterige nasmaak met alleen wat bitterheid.

Don’t get deceived by the sweet malty smell; this is a very serious beer. Pillowy head with very good lacing, and pleasant smell. Great color; very dark amber. Smell of malts and liquorice. Very bitter taste, lots of hops going on. Medium body, with a bit of a nasty bitter aftertaste.

On tap in the Wildeman. Poured a dark brown with a thick white head. Aroma of dark red fruit and coffee malt. Medium body, flavour of rasin, dark malt and a nice bitter finish.

Extremely interesting hybrid beer. Bartender called it a dubbel (as it is listed here) and bottle identifies itself as a ’brown ale’ which is perhaps a better description of the taste just not the process of making it. Hops are very present at the nose, making for an extremely interesting nose on a dubbel. Aroma is a lighter brown than most dubbels as well. Taste is a bit flat and lacks the normal fig and spice of a dubbel. This works well and is a fun beer to drink.

Cloudy brown body and nice big firm light tan head. Rich malty aroma, nutty, raisins, dough and rich yeast. Suits me well. Creamy mouth feel, well developed and rich in flavour. Moderate carbonation to exemplify this. Medium bitter with a smaller sweet kick. Drinks fairly easily. Nice label on the bottle. (That happens to state 120 minute hopping, not 60 as the RateBeer commercial description states.) Clearly het the dry hopping, adding character to an otherwise already very solid brown ale/dubbel style beer. Like this. (33cl bottle bought from the brewer at Delft Beer Festival)
