Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque black color, medium to full sized off-white head that lasts for quite a while. Smell malts, lightly leaves, a bit dusty. Taste malts, slightly roasted malts, a hint of leaves, bitter, don’t get any wood aging though. Decent body and carbonation. Ok beer

Bottle from Rootz at the Harbour. Poured a clear dark brown with a round off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt light alcohol. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a watery boozy alcohol liqourice roasted malt palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A little on the light side for a barrel aged stout. It should be clinging to the side of me mouth and I should be chewing this.. but I wasn’t.

Poured deep, dark brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma of roast malt, coffee, dark fruit and wood. Medium to full body, flavour much as the aroma.

Sold as 33cl bottle ’Shire Stout Whisky Barrel’ and with wood as listed ingredient; at 8.6% abv. Brown body, quite hazy and with big bubbly creamy tan head. Looks like the other wood aged (Barrel) variant. Rich bock-like aroma, quite some sweet malts, nutty, roasted. Don’t rink too cold. Taste is surprisingly woody, but with just enough sweetness to make it work.Too woody. Far from perfect. That’s okay, Ramses has loads of nice other brews. (33cl bottle from De Bierwinkel Leiden)

Black with creamy head. Moderately roasty aroma with a touch of wood and liquorice. Most of the flavour is in the aftertaste with pleasant cocoa and coffee notes coming through.

Saw it being installed. Through bourbon and cognac chips and hops. I get the bourbon the most, something acidic almost but nice. Liquorice and coffee. Nice! At the Botermarkt Beerfestival.

Black color, small head. Mild roasted malt aroma, with some sourness. The body is thinner than expected, some roasted malt, good chocolate, too much sourness.
Unstylish, but not bad.
