Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of smoke, infections, wood, and whiskey- hmm - what’s going on here??? The flavor is sweet with notes of smoke, tar, wood, roasted malt, alcohol, and whiskey - quite astringent, leading to a dry, alcoholic, smokey, and woody finish. A bit of my scale. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Clear dark brown with a reddish hue and a beige head. Extremely peaty and tar-like nose. Medium body, hard roasted malts and a shitload of ashes. Lots of peat and a vague whisky whiff. Dry malt bitterness in the finish with some alcohol burn. 091109

Bottle@Home. Peat and wood aroma. Opaque colour, beige head, few lace. Sweet, some peat, wood, licorice, thinnish. Just not it, lacks some balance and body.

Bottle 330ml. @ Weekend of Tarts After Tasting
Clear medium to dark brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, smoke, peaty, medicine notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090530]

A Mes rate. Bottle at home.
Mid brown colour with a short lived white head. Slightly sweaty aroma. Reasonable peaty whisky notes are decent but not integrated. Slightly acidic and astringent. Had much better from Gadds.

Bottle at mes’s gaff with harry. Alround rating: Big alocol hit, lightly smokey grainy whiskey, its got quite a thin body, which doesnt stand up to a very grainy whisky, the peat is muted somewhat. Too boozy, but not my style anyway.
