COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Creamy head smooth carbonation complements its deep mahogany color. Bouquet teems with chocolate, apple and clove. Roasted malts intertwine with the Tettnanger hops to create a depth of complex flavors. Smooth roasted malts and dark caramel leads to clean finish - unlike any other dark beer.

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark chocolate color. Scant head formation and little lacing. Coffee and a touch of clove in aroma. Fairly tasty. Chocolate and coffee, sharp spice bite. A little thin on the palate, but overall fairly nice. Thanks Lou!!

Sampled this at Andy’s Corner Bar, Bogota NJ. Lighter, good stuff than the Winter Wheat... able to be drank as session, seems pretty consistent stuff.

Malt extract nose with some dust, dark dark brown color, no head. Heavy sweet malt body, some wood in the middle and even smokey at times. Interesting but too heavy and sweet. Not sure what the intent is here stylistically speaking, but regardless of that it just doesn’t all come together very well. Decent though, and worth a shot.

Seems like I am the only one here who did not like it. Opaque color, no headm malt-beer nose -sweet. Sweet malty weak taste, thin bodied.

Had it last night at Andy’s. Greg Zaccardi was there to tap a wooden cask for the premier of this Year’s Winter Wheat. I wasn’t expecting the Classic to compare, but boy was I surprised! I might like this better. It had all of the great characteristics of the Winter Wheat, without the slight alcohol taste.

Clear ruby/orange/brown with a frothy off-white head. Apples, and sweet caramel in the aroma, very fizzy body, starts and ends sweet. Nice, but too much carbonation.

Sometimes, it’s fun to just grab a beer and pour - a quick glance at the label and I’m expecting a light wheat beer, but what pours out is dark brown! OOOOOhhhh, O.K. - a Dunkelweizen!!! Nice spritzy body full of chocolate, nutty almond, caramel sugars, subtle zing of citrus. Not very thick, but the lingering sweetness adds body. Very good!
