Malty and biscuity taste with a hay/grassy finish. Overall, a very good drinkable beer that would compliment a nice hearty meal.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap at Studio Square’s Craft Beer Week Fest 2009: Hazy deep copper with a light tan film. Some soft fruity amber malt notes in the aroma with a touch of fruity U.S. hops. Creamy soft body- some vegetal in the flavor with a fruity malt character and perhaps a touch of diacetyl- yet it’s overlook-able. One dimensional and doesn’t feel German.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 13, 2009 Dark copper color with a little bit of an off white head. Malty and complex, with a nice blend of hops coming through in the aftertaste. Very drinkable and tasty. Well made example of the style. (Added note on 3/13/09: Newer batches of this beer seem to have some wheat thrown into the grain bill, possibly to make it stand out from High Point’s previously similar Oktoberfest?)

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sampled at the beer fest in Adamstown Pa. The two beers i sampled from here did not impress me at all, actually they were the worst two of the whole trip. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of hops and fruit. The flavor is bitter, yeasty, and toasted malts. I just didn’t like this one.
