Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell during the Gunnar Tasting. I bought this in Cabo, Mexico and brought it back for the glory of you all. Pours dark brown with a quickly-fading, off-white head. The nose holds milk chocolate and coffee ice cream. Medium sweet flavor with rich coffee character, dirt, faint metal. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with a bit of charred meat, dark fruits, coffee, earth and cocoa. Good, and much better than I had anticipated.

Bottle shared at the Gunnar tasting at the CBC Clerkenwell. Murky, very dark brown, no head. Nose is sweet, dark chocolate, maple wood, light bourbon, smokey. Taste is dark chocolate, roasted malt, light bourbon, vanilla. The bourbon is not cloyng and this is really well balanced. Lots of dark chocolate coming through. I really like this.

Bottle at CBC Clerkenwell share thanks to Chris. Nothing wrong with this beer at all. Really quite sweet with vanilla and oak forward notes but a decent shout for the style. Booze is hidden nicely. Solid

The color of this beer is just black. No head. Sweet and intense smell of dark chocolate and coffee. Watery, no co2. It tastes like cacao powder in water with some alcohol in it. A beer made to get easly drunk. And there’s a part of me that likes that.

UPDATED: APR 20, 2014 Pours Almost black, thin tan head. Roasted malts, toffee hints with the regular chocolate notes. Sweet palate, med bodied. Long finish. That being said, there is no sign of the complexity amd full body that the oat should be bringing to this beer.

Bottled. Very black, no head. Malty chocolate aroma. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Milky coffee with some syrup. Low bitterness. a big, bold beer, but the flavours are still a bit shy.
