A Mes rate. Cask handpull from the Market Porter as La Piette Patois 4.5%.
A clean red amber with a slim but decent white head and some inky lace. Bitter and musty, good hops but fairly restrained. Some nice and fruity malt in the background. Good dry palate and very well balanced. Tasty.

Cask pints (numerous) at The Last Post, Guernsey. Cask ABV is 4.5%. (ABV of the bottled version is 5.0%.) Copper to brown colour, low creamy head, slightly off-white. Malty aroma with some caramel and toffee notes. Malty flavour too, toffee and nutty notes, a little fruit, very moderate hops - a very British character overall.

Cask at GBBF 2006. Dark copper colour with no head. Bit of strongish malt, some alcohol, sweetish malt. Fine. Not too offensive. Malts are sweet but not over dominant.

Cask (handpump) , GBBF Day 3, August 2006. Amber colour. Some general fruitiness throughout although I couldn’t really identify anything specific. Otherwise not much else of note. OK but uneventful. With scores of similar beers on offer this one didn’t really have anything to distinguish it from the crowd. Randalls seemed to be making an effort to jazz up their output and put more effort into exporting to the mainland. But folloiwng a family quarrel the company was sold to a group of provate investors who seem to have taken it back into its rather insular (literally) shell.
