This beer was a homage to the band Gasolin’. One of the best rock groups ever, and hands down the best in Scandinavia, ever. They sang in Danish, and they were great! So, this beer sings in Danish as well, only brewed that one time, from a brewery that unfortunatly went belly up. I had this beer twice, and I remember it as a stout with a tough roasty flavor as well as old school sweetness, a sort of prune type flavor, more so than raisin. Prunes and licorice? Yeah, I would say so. Add to that a hefty and ABV, I would highly recommend this beer, but I’m afriad it won’t be easy to find.

500, capped. Probably about three years’ age on this bottle. Pours jet black with a dense and creamy medium-tan head. Nice balanced chocolatey nose, somewhere between baking chocolate and milk chocolate, with nice roasty notes and some soft dark pitted tree fruit in the background. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Beautifully softened and balanced chocolates and roasty notes on the mid palate, leading to a smooth and harmonious finish with no bite or unpleasantness whatsoever. Wonderful stuff.

Bottled. Pours deep brown nearly black with a medium sized tan head. Leaving a fair lacing on the glass. Nose of roasted malts, coffee, bitter chocolate and citrus notes. Sweet flavor with roasted malt and oatmeal, that ends up dry and quite bitter and with alcohol notes. Medium to full bodied, oily texture and soft CO2. Excellent.. ★★★★
