COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: this is different from the Regular Randers Porter - check the label design to make sure you’re rating the right beer.

JanLaursen (2219) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 9, 2011
Deep brown beer with a huge but diminishing tan head. Tangy and malty aroma with some roasted and sweet caramel notes. Quite one-dimensionel. Like the Beatles without George Harrison. Taste is similar. Not bad, but syrupy. Only a small hint of hop-bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, very soft carbonation and a soft & boring finish. C’mon Randers guy - u can do better than this...

LoFi (1345) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 30, 2011
Bottle. Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma: some chocolate, fruit, sweet malt, light whisky notes. Taste: pretty sweet, lightly roasted, some coffee, chocolate, licorice, some whisky and hints of smoke. A nice taste but just a bit thin. Medium-bodied, smooth, but with a high carbonation. Basically a standard porter, but the use of whisky malt gives it a boost.

Pleasant, vaguely smoky, smell of roasted malt and sweet licorice. The taste is roasted malt, soy sauce and a lot of licorice. Fresh notes of hops lifts the taste nice. Sadly somewhat thin in body and taste but on the whole a nice Porter!
