Skyview (2803), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 19, 2008 Served on draught at the Wisconsin Micro-brewers Beerfest in Chilton, Wisconsin as Tye-the-Knot Rye Ale and is the brewmaster’s 5th Anniversary rye ale. Pours a semi-clear dark golden amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of semi-sweet rye bread, some flowery hops and a touch of dark pitted fruits. Taste is medium bodied, smooth, creamy with flavors of dry rye malt with a mild bitterness that quickly disappears. Finish has a nice balance that is not too dry or sweet but has a mild bitterness that slowly disappears after the finish. hopdog (4552), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 27, 2007 4th anniversary versoin that I’m going to rate here as I can’t see adding a new entry. On tap at the Randy’s Fun Hunters Brew Pub. Poured a medium golden color with a small sized white head. Aromas of rye, grainy, and some citrus. Tastes follow with the rye coming out a little stronger StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 8, 2005 Clear copper in color with a thin splotchy tan head. Rye bread and salted pumpernickel chips lead the aroma, followed with some sourdough and lemony crispness. Very smooth and non-abrasive on the palate. Rye dinner rolls with an herbal lemon casing for flavor. There’s also a badgering element reminiscent of salt & vinegar potato chips. Lacking. Let’s hope the next year is better.
