COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A central Texas take on the classic American style, Ranger Creek OPA is an American Pale Ale at heart that has new dimensions of flavor imparted by Texas-grown oats. It has smooth, sweet, and toasty malt flavors with an underlying creamy nuttiness from the oats. The malt profile is balanced nicely by English Fuggles and American Amarillo hops. The nose and finish are full of spicy, citrusy hops with faint notes of tropical fruits and apricot.

12 oz undated bottle purchased from the refrigerator and consumed the next day. Pours deep amber with a semi-durable head and very good laing. Aroma: typcial hoppy APA Flavor; some nice smoothness and oats, but mostly herbal/earthy hops. Feel: smooth and soft for style; medium carbonation. O: a successful innovation, using oats; smooth feel in this bold IPA.

Draught at The Friendly Spot. Malty IPA with some big rye notes (even if it’s oat). Really nice overall.

Amber gold pour, no head. Fresh leafy and citris amazing oat aroma! Has a bitterness that gives toasted flavors. Very refreshing and bold and very drinkable.

Fairly clear light amber coloured body with an orange glow at the bottom and a decent light brown glow at top - odd. Aroma of pungent earthy and perfumey hops with a large oatmeal and malt nose. Medium-bodied; Deep earthy and pungent malt note with a lot of bitterness and a light caramel and toffee touch. Aftertaste shows a hint of hops but largely showing a varied malt profile with oatmeal by far the strongest. Overall, an interesting and pungent beer with some good flavours and a deep backbone of oatmeal that shows well. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whip In yesterday, 05-May-2014 in Austin, Texas for US$2.50 sampled in my hotel room here in Austin, Texas on 06-May-2014.

Pours amber with a white head. Smell is nutty, toasty, fruity and yeasty as it warms and opens up. Starts smelling like homebrew after a few minutes though and more yeasty. Taste is toasty, bittersweet caramel like malt, fruity hops with moderate bitterness and definitely a creamy mouthfeel with prickly carbonation. Decent.

Tap in San Antonio. Disliked this. Wanted to try to see effect of oats. I got nada. Just too much hops and over carbonated pale ale. Meh

Pours a reddish orange color with a lacy off white head. Notes of earthy hops, pine, orange citrus, apricots, and caramel. Creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good.

Misty orange body and small stable head. Interesting mix of cereal and fresh tropical fruit hops. Tasty bitterness, well balanced actually. Nice one. (On tap at Craft Pride)

Christmas bottle that Zac brought. Pretty tasty brew. You get a good dose of Pacific NW hops in the aroma plus a nice bitterness bite in the flavor. It is balanced nicely by the addition of oats which also adds some smoothness. Very pleasant and easy drinking.
