COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A central Texas take on the classic American style, Ranger Creek OPA is an American Pale Ale at heart that has new dimensions of flavor imparted by Texas-grown oats. It has smooth, sweet, and toasty malt flavors with an underlying creamy nuttiness from the oats. The malt profile is balanced nicely by English Fuggles and American Amarillo hops. The nose and finish are full of spicy, citrusy hops with faint notes of tropical fruits and apricot.

Pretty good brew...tons of fruity esters in aroma...but ok with me. Citrus hops, and great mouthfeel, maybe to do with the Oats...really liked this

Pours a copper color with a dark red hue. Aromas apricot, slight peach, medium pine and mild caramel. Flavors medium caramel, light pine, light citrus, apricot, slight peach. Medium sweet and bitter. A decent pale but the oatmeal only seems to give an expected body with nothing to over the top or distinguishing other than the name implies.

12 oz undated bottle purchased from the refrigerator and consumed the next day. Pours deep amber with a semi-durable head and very good laing. Aroma: typcial hoppy APA Flavor; some nice smoothness and oats, but mostly herbal/earthy hops. Feel: smooth and soft for style; medium carbonation. O: a successful innovation, using oats; smooth feel in this bold IPA.

Fairly clear light amber coloured body with an orange glow at the bottom and a decent light brown glow at top - odd. Aroma of pungent earthy and perfumey hops with a large oatmeal and malt nose. Medium-bodied; Deep earthy and pungent malt note with a lot of bitterness and a light caramel and toffee touch. Aftertaste shows a hint of hops but largely showing a varied malt profile with oatmeal by far the strongest. Overall, an interesting and pungent beer with some good flavours and a deep backbone of oatmeal that shows well. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whip In yesterday, 05-May-2014 in Austin, Texas for US$2.50 sampled in my hotel room here in Austin, Texas on 06-May-2014.
