tap. Light brown with one finger head. Medium malt body with a bit of roast. Very light funk. I’m not a big fan of the dark saison trend.

Deep brown brew with some off-white head. Nose is unique - leather, spices, dark fruit. Flavor is slightly smokey, roasted malt, grainy finish.

Black bodied, creamy head, very appetising. Creamy malts, not very farmy, but tasty. Quite bitter, light toasty malts, nice. Absolutely not a saison or even farmhouse ale in spirit, though. (On tap at Dough San Antonio)

Sorriest excuse for a saison that I’ve ever encountered.. Nothing "saison"-like about this one at all. Horrid for the style.. More like a mild dark IPA

Sample 11/12/13 (Whole Foods-Lama r)-Pours dark with a tan hesd. Aroma of spices, yeast, and funk. Taste of yhe same. This medium bodied brew was different than most other saisons. Not sure if I enjoyed that.

December 30, 2011. Very, very dark amber in color, practically brown with a dense, off-white head. The aroma is extremely light, with only a slightly roasted, almost toasted or smoky, malt character and some residual sweetness peeking through. As complex as that sounds, the aroma really isn’t very powerful at all. The mouth feel is creamy and dense, with a sweet flavor and an earthy yeast character. It has a heft to it and the gravity of a stout, even with roasted malts that you’d expect in the finish that gives it a little bitterness in the back with an almost yeasty sourness that follows. It’s so strange. Honestly, I’m not a really big fan of this. It’s just a really weird beer.

really surprised with this, this blew me away .. . pours a deep brown .. medium foam, crazy good lacing .. . deep grains, troddin hay, soil, and light roast .. . full mouthfeel, very well made! .. . . i think you missed the point.. montel??

On tap at Flying Saucer Houston. Pours a clear deep brown with a ruby hue that is near clear and a tan head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has notes of dark stale bread with a bit of backing dark fruit and yeast. Flavor has an odd combination of dark bread, Belgian yeast, roasted malt and dar fruit that seems muddled.

(Draught) Pours a murky amber-brown body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of roasted grain, caramel, raisins, biscuit, and coffee. Flavor of coffee, roasted grain, dates, and bread.
