3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Growler @ Lost Abbey. Thanks to Sean. Pale straw pour with a white head. Interesting herbal, minty aroma to this. Lemon zest, popcorn, and a bit of club soda. Some nice acidity to the taste. Pleasant lemon sourness, a touch of lime zest, and grass. Same herbal character as on the nose. Mild cracker and popcorn sweetness. Refreshing, club soda like flavor.

Growler at RBWG 2013 Grand Tasting. Pours hazy, pale yellow with a light, white cream head. Nice acidic lemon nose. Light sweet flavor with lots of zippy lemon tang, some lactic bite. Light bodied with fine, spritzy carbonation. Super clean, fresh finish, quenching sour lemons, mellow acidity. Really nice.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A hazed blonde weisse with a thick receding creamy white head. In aroma, a light lemony malt with light chalky notes. In mouth, a smooth light acidic lemony beer, a bit light but refreshing. On tap at brewpub, Dec. 8 2012.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JUL 9, 2012 Draft… Cajun Café on the Bayou Sour Festival 2012… Pours cloudy and off-white with a small, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. The nose is understated, but offers some nice acidity and lemon essence. Medium-bodied and milky with pillow-soft carbonation. Lemon-lime flavor. The acidity is nice, but not quite where I’d like it to be. Hints of sweetness and graininess. Clean, refreshing finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Rapp. Pours full haze white with fizzy soda foam. Nose is fruity pineapple, fresh and doughy. Taste is fruity, lemon sorbet, pineapple juice, lemonade. Palate is clean, refreshing, very simple though the lactic acid content is very low for Berliner.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line:
Lemon water and personable lactobacillus evolve into poundable tartness in this easygoing Berliner Weisse.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A crown of foam sits atop the yellow-ish white.
-Carbonation is too low for this type of beer (in my tastes).
-Tartness is a bit too light; this was still very quenching though, obviously.
-Wheat flavours were shy.
-This remains a classy and successful example which gives people a very good idea of what this nearly forlorn style is all about.
On tap at the brewery taproom.
