3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at Rapp. Pours a clear deep red with nice whiter foam. Nose is herbal, tar, pine, hazelnut coffee, dense. Taste is hazelnut, pine, walnut, brazil nut. More of a well hopped hazelnut brown ale, though the pine needle content could make this pass for Black IPA. Impressed.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
7/10/13. On tap at the brewery. Black pour, maybe more of a deep brown, with a small khaki head. The aroma shows citrus, pine, and muted chocolate and roast. Pine and bitterness in the flavor with a cleaner roasted malt bitterness than the aroma led on.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Rapp. It pours very dark brown with a thick tan head. The nose is roasted malt, toast, pine, treacle, aniseed/liquorice and fresh citrus. The taste is roasted malt, coffee, pine, nice bitterness, cocoa, earth, pithy citrus and a touch of soap with a bitter finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Flavoursome, nice body and good depth of flavour. Another winner from Rapp.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at the brewery. Deep brown pour with a white head with lots of lacing. Roasted, coffee maltiness with bitter piney hops. Roast and coffee malts on the front of the tongue with a good dose of bitter pine and citrus hops on the back end. Pretty solid.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice stuff. Aroma is big citrus and pine with some roasted and chocolate malts. Color is, uhhh, black. Flavor is big on hops with a tone of pine and citrus. The roasted malts are their but not overpowering. Light chocolate but more so on the roast. This is my kind of DIPA. Well balanced flavors and not just a garbled up mess of malt and hops.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Another job well done here. It’s very well balanced with dry hops and dark, roasted malt. The texture was nice too, and made this brew all the more enjoyable.
