Rapscallion Premier is a deep golden Belgian-inspired ale. The flavor is a mixture of sweetness with some fruity undertones, spiciness, and a light, underlying bitterness.

Nice flavor and aroma. I wouldn’t class this as a strong ale as Dann P is not trying for a specific profile but rather to create an "American Artisinal" beer.

On tap. Golden red with small white head. Aroma grassy hops, some wood and bourbon. Medium body, slight alcohol, a little sticky then dries out. Flavors up front sweet caramel and warming presence, some spices, citrusy hop finish. Pretty good.

Keg at Moe’s, Lee, MA. Pours clear, rich gold with a foamy, white head. Floral hops in the nose, some yeast. Light to medium sweet flavor, nice and bitter. Tons of floral bitterness, light grass, dough, light candi sugar. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Dries lightly in the finish, with notes, with lightly toasted sugar, grass, flowers. Seems just slightly watery, but overall very nice.

On tap at Sunset Grill. Served in a tulip. Pours a moderately-hazy light golden color with a good white head and a bit of lacing as it makes its way down the glass. Thin cap nearly throughout. The nose brings forward some light banana, a bit of yeast, and a light grainy presence. Nothing too complex, but everything fits together quite well. The flavor falls along the same lines. The banana was light and carried the rear, while the more forward flavors were a bit of other yeastiness as well as a pervasive presence of grain. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Pretty decent. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 03-22-2011

On draft at The Ale House in Amesbury , MA. Poured a light orange with a white head. Nose of malts and other odd aromas. Medium body and light mouthfeel. Flavor is spicy with lots of malt. Kind of an odd tasting beer, but drinkable.

In short: A inoffensively bland slightly citrusy golden ale. Meh
How: Tap at Pour Farm, New Bedford, MA
The look: Almost clear golden blonde body topped by a white ring of foam
In long: The very light nose is a bit citrusy. In the mouth I got bready malts, some citrus fruits, some wet grass. A little tartness. No bitterness to speak of. Carbonation is very active. An inoffensive beer for the mass. I spent only one night in this beer wasteland, extremely boring and very ugly town called New Bedford, MA. And by the end of the night I wished I was running a business making ashtrays made out of human skulls.

Pint on draft - Pale red to golden, sweet, fruity, lighter flavor. Perhaps trying to emulate a Belgian style. Good session beer

Big City Allston tulip ($5.25): The bartender poured it without a head, so I can’t comment on that aspect. The beer is a translucent red color. Sweet malty and cherryish aroma. Some Belgian notes are there, but not in full force. Tastes kind of sweet. The high alcohol is covered by the sugar I would assume. Mild hop presence and some bitterness throughout. Pretty fruity tasting. Good, but as others have said, far from great.

Sampled at Sunset Grill Allston. Pours a hazy yellow with some frothy white head. Fruity aroma, lightly sweet, light citrus. Flavor is malty, citrus, bread, a little sugar. Finish is medium bodied. Nothing wrong, per se, but completely forgettable.

Was nice to have this on tap in Boston even though it is made in Western MA where I am from. This light orange beer had a slight head in my pint glass. The aroma was sweet but also a bit estery and like peptic. Fruity and smooth taste witha bit of hop bitter, Nice middle of the road beer
