Skanderborg, Denmark Danish: Denne Kloster Humle er brygget med respekt for cisterciensermunkenes udbredelse af ølbrygningen i Europa tilpasset nutidens krav om en ensartet kvalitet og friskhed i smag. Kloster Humle er brygget på vand, bygmalt, gær og humle fra Øm Kloster.
Humlen Humulus Lupulus er en ældgammel kulturplante, der gennem årtusinde har fundet anvendelse til ølbrygning og som lægemiddel. Humlen ved Øm Kloster stammer fra dengang cisterciensermunkene levede på klostret (1172-1560). Planten er en reliktplante, hvilket vil sige, at den igennem århundrede - frem til i dag - har stået nær dens oprindelige dyrkningssted.
Munkene benyttede primært humle i ølbrygningen som smagsingrediens og som konserveringsmiddel, mens lægen Henrik Harpestreng i 1200-tallet anbefalede humle til at rense milten og leveren.
På Øm Kloster blev der i 1554 opbevaret 70 liter humle (humlekopper) til ølbrygning, og ligesom dengang er Øm Kloster humlen tilsat denne øl.
