Danish: “…rør blot ikke ved min gamle jul..” sådan hører vi hvert år, Bo Bendixen synge fra “Sikke en voldsom trængsel og alarm” Sådan er det også med juleøllet. Det har sin plads blandt mange andre tradtioner. Juleøllet har alle dage været kraftigere øl end hverdagsøllet – Hornbeer Juleøl er ingen undtagelse. Den holder sine 7½ pct. Vi har i år valgt at brygge vores juleøl efter belgisk forbillede. Der er anvendt gær fra belgisk trappistøl, og der er krydret ganske lidt. Der er smag er frugter, karamel og jul. Vi tillader os at citere Carsten Bertelsen fra bogen 24 juleøl. “Juleøl skal tages alvorligt, ellers ka’ det være det samme. For så kan vi lige så godt drikke den øl, som vi plejer i hverdagen. Vore forfædre indviede det godt indbryggede og krydrede juleøl med højtid, så derfor må velsmag og godt håndværk – i det mindste – være vor tids offer til guderne” Vi er helt enige i synspunktet: stå vagt om en god tradition, nemlig den gode juleøl.
