Drakes Nyack Barleywine Ale

Brewed by Drakes Brewing Company
San Leandro, California USA
Style: Barley Wine | Ratings: 8 | Winter Seasonal | Alcohol: 12%
Originally brewed by 20 Tank Brewery in San Francisco (1989-2000), Nyack Barleywine is an American Strong Ale. Dark amber in color, itís white frothy head invites you into the glass. Deep, roasty, caramel mouthfeel with strong citrus esters on your palate. This is a Big beer with Big flavors of malt, hops and heat. We used close to 2000 pounds of different malts to make up the grist, and a total of 25 pounds of hops (Magnum, Centennial & Chinook). Enjoy some Bay Area history, and drink a Nyack Barleywine. We suggest it be served in half-pint snifters or goblets.
