Tangøl – 6,0% Tang er der masser af langs den bornholmske klippekyst – og tang kan bruges til mangt og meget, så hvorfor ikke øl. Målsætningen var bl.a. at udnytte tangens indhold af organiske syrer til at sænke mæskens og urtens pH-værdi. Udover det skulle tangens langkædede sukkermolekyler bidrage med mere fylde til øllet, samtidig med at vi havde en forventning om et eksotisk aromatiltag i det færdige øl. På basis af en ”textbook”- Brown Ale satte vi første bryg over i maj 2012. Resultatet var en fyldig,mineralisk og lidt ”udtørrende” øl med en kraftig aroma af strand – da den var ung, vel at mærke. ”Strand-smagen” (som er præget af svolvlbrinte og organiske svovlforbindelser) svækkes dog med tiden og skal kompenseres med noget andet. Derfor fik det næste bryg (sat over i oktober 2012) et ekstra skud humle, og for at modarbejde den tørre smag lod vi tilmed restsødmen være lidt højere. Alt i alt en rigtig spændende øl med perspektiv! Vi har allerede nu planer om en 3. version med yderligere optimeringer.
