We have had many requests for a big Barley Wine, so hold onto your hats, here it comes! For our first attempt, we thought we would try an American-Style Barley Wine. This is going to be a huge beer. Weighing in at about 10% alcohol, it's sure to warm you up right down to your toes! Tons of malt and tons of hops are what characterize this beer. A big, chewy malt backbone lays the foundation for lots of hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. A sniff of this fine ale will delight the senses with an abundance of fruity esters intertwined with flowery and spicy hop aromatics as well as a touch of malty sweetness. A sip wraps your palate in warmth as the alcohol makes itself known. Dark fruit and caramel-like characters combine with fresh hop essence to dance across your tounge. A hinto of "toastiness" adds to the complexity, and marries with a firm and rich hop bitterness that finishes off the journey. What a ride!
