A short walk from the brewery brings you to Snuff Mills on the River Frome. The old mill was actually used to grind corn, not snuff as its name suggests. The name is believed to originate from an early nineteenth century miller whose smock was always covered in snuff. Interesting and possibly even true!
For our winter ale, we started with our Slumberjack recipe and messed with the mash to give a slightly sweeter and smoother finish. We then cracked open the port and added a large dose to each cask and sat back and waited for the flavours to mingle. Good stuff!
