Himmlisch!

Quite a British nose: caramel, orange marmelade, fruity, fragrant rather British hops, some oak hints. Taste is more like a Pale Ale, nice and balanced, fruity hops with a soapy edge; a subtle hop bitterness in the finish.

Ein vergleichsweise mildes Pale Ales, geht stark an ein Pils ran. Optisch aber eine Schönheit.

On tap. Amber colour, thin white head. Peach and caramel dominate. Smooth, a little sweet, not very bitter. With it’s relatively low alcohol it’s easy drinking, but it is nothing special.

Aroma a lúpulo, pino y levadura.

(33 cl bottle from "Studio" in Ørestad Nord; BBD: October 15th 2015) Poured in a regular (half)pint glass revealing a clear, golden body with lively carbonation and a white, two-finger head. Decent retention and beautiful lace. As someone who has followed the growing inspiration from American beer styles on the German beer brewing scene with interest for a few years you gotta love the text in the commercial description telling the casual German beer drinker not to be afraid of Indian tribes - it’s just not your grandmother’s style of noble hops ;-) Aroma unfortunately falls somewhat short of expectations from an APA featuring Amarillo and Cascade. I get a faint whiff of sodapop and then mostly grain and toffee. Again this could be down to the age on the bottle. The impression on the palate is mediocre with a somewhat watery texture, a medium to light body, the aforementioned lively carbonation and a short and not very self-conscious finish. Flavour has some bitterness that is a bit weird - notes of grass and chalk. For a 5,6% ABV this is rather watery and light-bodied. This could be okay if the aroma was dialled up with fresh dry hopped stuff but in this (somewhat aged) bottle that I got served it’s not satisfying - especially at the import price of 7€/bottle.
