Enormous thanks to my mom and some friends (Ana & Karolina) for bringing this from Hamburg! Poured a dark amber-brown body with a small off white head. Heavy malty nose, just maltiness. Light grainy malty taste, maybe caramel, some dog food, very light hop. A solid malt-driven lager, with no major flows other than it’s not my style - glad to have tried it.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, fine malty, not too dry. Interesting caramel notes, modest roasty. Finish well balanced, mild-dry. A good one!

Bottle: Reddish-amber coloured, clear, yellowish mid-sized off-white head, toasty-malty and fruity nose with a very faint metallic tinge; mild bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, quite soft; slightly lingering nutty-fruity finish with an increasing bitterness in the aftertaste. Yes, O.K.…

The head is ok, the body red and clear. It smells very malt aromatic, fruity a bit amarena-cherry, fruity, a bit barley. The taste is full bodied, maltaromatic, a bit bitter-hoppy, a bit dusty-barley. Nice! 11/11/12/11/11/11

Meh - drinkable, but somehow tastes unnecessary. ’d Have to subscribe to one of previous raters’ "caramel sweetish vienna" and have to conclude Ratsherrn is trying to jump the tiny German craft bandwagon with boots to tight and small. The modest craft beer "(r)evolution" in Germany is starting not only starting slow, but apparently also reaching the advertising guys first, who seem to spend as much time coming up with the more adventurous descriptors and labels that seem to with the craft beer scene as they spend on taste and developing a solid flavour profile - Cf. the ad boys from "Crew Ale" for their pale ale, which needs more time to develop a more harmonious taste profile as well, although theirs is more digestible than the aggressively marketed and likewise tasting Simcoe cocktail by Crew.

Schlecht. 9/5/8/5/7/5
