(bottle, 33cl) Clear, reddish copper colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Toasty malty and nutty aroma with notes of caramel, a tinge of molasses and a subtle berry-fruity touch. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a pleasantly calm and well-matured carbonation. Solid roast-malty taste with loads of caramel/burnt sugar, dark chocolate and mocha with a drying hops character in the backyard; dry-ish, mildly sweet roasty and bitter hoppy finish with subtle fruity notes. Good. 03.IX.12

Pours red into the bottle with a creamy head. Optically, quite pleasing. Aroma is caramel malt, sliced apple, and a bit of cherry. Taste is lightly malty, caramel, lots of cherry, a bit sweet, and the palate is fizzy. Second impression: if Dr Pepper were a beer, then this would be it. Actually interestingly sweet for a beer brewed to the Rheinheitsgebot (without actual sugar). Finish is short with cherry notes. Started off well, but the overall taste lost its appeal with me about mid-bottle. OK.

This can be had in dance clubs in Hamburg where otherwise only industry beer can be found. Such an improvement! Nicely balanced combination of tastes wrapped in malty caramel.

Aroma: roasted caramel, herbs. Appearance: clear reddish amber color and thin beige head. Taste: medium herbal bitterness, roasted caramel, melanoidines, roasted malts, dry. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, roasted finish. Overall: Combination of vienna lager and red ale. Only ok.

The beer has a beautiful color. The color is ruby red, not that dark. In strong light, the beer has a beautiful orange red glow. The beer is quite clear. The beer pours a thick layer of soft creamy foam. The foam is slightly off white. The most foam collapses, but a thin drape of foam remains on top of the beer. The beer has a nice smell. I bock beer. The beer has aroma’s of caramel, red cherries, alcohol, brown sugar. There is also a little roast aroma. This roast aroma gives the beer a nice dark bitter sweet aroma. It is really nice for the autumn. The smell also has some licorice in it. The taste is very nice. I taste everything the smell also has to offer. There is caramel, fruitiness, alcohol, sugar and the nice roast flavor. It tastes just like most bock beers, which I love. This really is a nice beer. Congratulations.

Bottle. Pleasantly malty, bitter and refreshing, but a bit watery altogether. Nice pine, though!

Sampled at Altes Madchen. Light biscuit, caramel, notes of fig, mildly bready. Drinkable but fairly light and basic stuff again.

Vom Fass. Kastanien Farben mit cremigem dunklem Schaum. Toffee Aroma. Der Geschmack ist dezent süß mit angebranntem Karamell. Im Abgang nicht lang anhaltend bitter

Nice smooth "red" beginning. Soft malt, hints of dryness and roast. Great combination on a highly drinkable basis. Nice soft malt, smooth. The bitterness is really low, nice malt. Great sessionable with a dry malty finish.
