BlackHaddock (4275) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - DEC 17, 2014
12th Dec 2014. First beer on the tasting tray at Altes Mädchen. Light old gold, hazy look, with a thin white topping. Aroma was fairly weak with hints of yeast and semi-sweet maltiness. The taste was also on the sweet side, again with a yeasty feel. Mild spice notes in the finish. I thought this a good start to the sample selection.

bartlebier (2072) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - DEC 3, 2014
Tap@source, HH 11/15. Sweet grains and white bread mix with a muddled dull yeast profile to produce a soggy dough of a Zwickl that swallows most of the herbal DE hops working in the background. Sweet, bready finish. In stellar Mahr’s close presence clearly the duller freshman effort.

Alla spina al brewpub. Birra anonima con sentori molto deboli di malto e poco più

Kita (1234) - Koper, SLOVENIA - NOV 20, 2014
On tap from Ratsherrn flight at Altes Mädchen, Hamburg. Clear pale golden color with medium creamy white head, fair lacing and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of grainy malt, herbal hops, hay and citrus. Taste starts with moderate sweet toasted malt, follows by herbal and citric acidity with pleasant bitter finish. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. My first "rat", good for a start, but nothing oustanding with it...

Foggy pale amber with sweet aroma, I distinct taste that is rounded and fruity and subtle with some noble hop, a bit easy going but it’s OK.

Nocturne (919) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2014
Draught at the brewpub. Hazy dark golden shade with white foam. Bit of lacing too. Taste and aroma best described as bready with lemon and honey notes. It’s OK overall but little stands out and it’s pretty forgettable.
