Pendulum Pilsner is a rich velvet smooth, yet clean, dry and crisp pilsner of a pale gold color. The complex mix of hops and malt creates an elegant floral nose and delightful taste that is very drinkable without overwhelming even the most tepid beer drinker. Not overly bitter but just enough of the hop to enjoy their subtle complexities while still enjoying the smooth, and almost sweet taste of the malt. Serve Pendulum in a tall glass to enjoy the carbonated bead and the steady white head that laces the glass and taste why Pendulum Pilsner is a cut above the rest.

Bottle into pils glass, clear darker golden color with white head. Aroma notes of pale malt sweetness, cereal and faint grass/floral hops. Taste adds some bread, hay and faint hop spice. Light body, moderate-heavy carbonation, crisp with clean light grassy finish. Straight forward pils, somewhat boring but true to style and no flaws.

Bottle. Clear pale golden, low white head. Fairly neutral aroma. Light bodied, mellow mouthfeel. Slightly grainy base, ok grassy hop notes. Not so exiting.

Poured from a bottle. Clear copper/gold. Little head. Slight malty aroma. Not much flavor up front. Hops come through in the aftertaste. Very unassuming beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Golden and still, little to no head whatsoever. Drinks smooth and clean, but is uber-malty, or at best virtually flavorless. Perhaps made to compete with the macros, and does so admirably. But not much to this, beyond an everyday lager. (#5768, 10/2/2014)

Bottle. Nose is light citrus, bready. Pours rich golden with above-avg carb and a fizzy beige head. Taste lightly sweet, plain but pleasant malt, not all that crisp, dries out in the finish, very light grassy and juicy hops, faint mineral touch, body feels more like an ale than a pilsner. Clean and hits the spot, good lawnmower beer but doesn’t stand up to thoughtful reflection.

12 ounce bottle from Total Wine Manassas. Pours a clear copper color with a medium sized fizzy offwhite head. Good head retention. Aroma of not much. Faint sweet malt and spicy hops. The taste is sweet malt, grassy hops, mild grain and raisin. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, slight lingering bitterness.
