Cask gravity, Derby Winter BF, 17/02/12. Clean orange-amber with a slim level head. Buttered old lemon aroma; some high alcohol and strawberry touches. Bitter with solid husky foundations; peach skin, tea, honey. Slightly vegetal. Better malt than hop. Raw yet to impress.

Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Amber brown with a thin foam. Aromas are toffee with grape juice and woody green pine. Nutty marzipan with plenty of spicy hops. Flavours are sweet chewy toffee with grapefruit and floral pine. Dry tea with lots of peppery, spicy hops. Dry with fruity bitterness to finish. Rated in a hurry, remembered for a lot longer.
