3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Black with a medium beige, dense head. Aromas are very earthy with woody oak and hints of ash. Coffee with underlying berries and liquorice. Creamy lactose with oats and whiteboard marker pen. Quite peppery on the nose. Flavours are dry, earthy coffee with sweet cream and a woody, nutty dark chocolate bitterness. Dry on the finish. Good robust porter.
