Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
In the old brewery we had a problem with slugs getting into the brewery. As the beer leaves a trail down the glass as you drink it like a slug, that's how the beer was named. A delicious traditional porter with a full bodied taste of chocolate, coffee, blackcurrant and black cherry with a good aroma. A near black colour with a good white head when served through a tight sparkler.
Pale malt, crystal malt, black malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Cask at Hop Devil, NYC. A very enjoyable low grav porter. We need more like this in the states. Taste and aroma are very subtle but perfectly executed, silky coffee chocolate notes, marzipan, marshmellow. Very dry and creamy. Had I been in the mood to drink I could’ve been putting these down all night.

Bottle. Dark cola colored brown to near black opaqueness. Soft tan head. Nose is roasted malts, light coffee, treacle, and chocolate. Taste is dark chocolate, hints of molasses, light darker fruits, and light coffee. Very bitter coffee hop flavor, overall. Body is a bit thin. Light carbonation. Slick feeling in spots. Ends with more chocolate, dark fruits, light molasses and coffee.

Pours a deep dark brown with a huge tan head. The aroma is filled with chocolate and roasted malts. The flavor has tastes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and a finish that has an acidic bite.

Black pour with red highlights. Nice creamy head of mocha and lacing on the glass. Aroma is very mild chocolate. Flavor is well blended chocolate and just a touch of sourness. Pretty nice.

The 17 ounce bottle poured a beautiful clear deep garnet colored beverage with an ample, creamy off-white head that lasted nicely and left wonderful lacing on the glass. The aroma is full of dark roast coffee and caramel. On the more subtle side there was a fine earthiness in the nose that mingled with sweet dried fruits a hint of molasses and licorice. The body was medium-full with smooth carbonation and a soft, dry texture. The flavor starts off just barely sweet and then quickly takes on its lasting dry earthy medium bitterness. The finish is long and enjoyable leaving you wanting another mouthful.

Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours dark with a brown head. Aroma of chocolate. The flavor is heavy chocolate, but lacks any punch. Good beer.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours dark with a decent size tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roast. The flavor is slight dark fruit, faint roast and chocolate, slight presence of hops, this brew had a thin mouthfeel.
