StueyD (590), King’s Lynn, Norfolk, Norfolk, England Mar 19, 2006 A dark, chocolatey brown-red beer with a weak white head. A light toasty nose with hints of malt and hops. Sweet caramel and a slightly toffee finish. The taste is dry, bitter with the toasted malt element again and caramel, toffee sweetness. The finish is dry and bitter sweet. (Draught - @ the Norwich Beer Festival 2004). emptytankard (36), Illinois, USA Mar 18, 2006 Pours jet black with a light tan head, very pleasing to look at. Nice mild body with a very satisfying flavor. A distinct nuttiness and a crisp dry finish complement tastes of chocolate, coffee, and dark fruits. Overall, a fantastic porter. blankboy (3165), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 11, 2006 Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark reddish-brown with a large lasting foamy light-brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, fruit, chocolate, nuts and a touch of coffee. Flavour of roasted malt, mild chocolate, some wood and a light bitter dry finish. Body’s a little thin. Pretty good, I enjoyed it. hughie (3016), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Mar 11, 2006 Cask at Banker’s, JDW, Bedford. Very dark brown with a lasting beige head. Malty aroma with some fruits.
