Very dark ruby, creamy small cappuchino head. Sweetish coffee nose. Roasted, a bit sweet, licorice in the flavor. Watery but interesting session porter. tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 6, 2005 Biscuit and chocolate malt aromas are somewhat vegetal. Opaque brown-black with low, off-white head that diminishes slowly to ring. Sweet chocolate and roasty flavours are well-balanced. Medium-light body with lively carbonation. Cask at GBBF 2005. johndoughty (2150), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Aug 29, 2005 Bottle conditioned. Dark with a roasted wood like flavour.A full body made for a very pleasant porter. Retorp (2154), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 12, 2005 Aroma of stale ale baking in the sun. Deep black with a two finger thick mocha head. muted flavors of roasted malt with some even more muted chocolate and coffe. There is a pervasive thinness that gives this a very pale ale mouthfeel. Combined with flavor that almost, but doesn’t quite come out and you have a better than average Porter, but not a first rate, porter.
