DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Jan 27, 2005 Pours brown with a small head.Heavy aroma of nuts and burnt malt. The flavor was of nuts and some caramel and coffee.Went down smooth not too heavy. The finish was clean. Not bad tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 16, 2005 Bottle. Strong roasted notes in aroma, bark brown/near black colour, small white head. Heavy assertive roasted flavour which I loved. Slightly bitter at the end. Mouthfeel was a little watery. What a great old style session porter. Thanks for sharing jercraigs, any casks available as well?? jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 16, 2005 Dark brown, red tinged body with a small creamy tan head. Coats the glass. (3+) Dark Malty aroma with a hint of roast barley, vague touch of licorice. Lots of coffee like bitter roast in a rude opening. Lingering roast on the tongue. Palate is creamy but light. Nice beer, but the roasty bitterness is not to my liking. Thanks Detritus. Dalle (1146), Skørping, Denmark Jan 16, 2005 Bottle conditioned. Black with a small head. Chocholate, lightly woody and sour, medium bitterness, long finish. Medium body. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain Jan 9, 2005 Dark amber brown with thick off white head. Sweet malt nose with hints of nuts and molasses with some roasted qualities. Light body with a sour acidic finish and midpalate. Light fruit with some light nut flavors though the acid is strong nad thus a bit too cleansing of the nice flavors tha I want to stay. haddonsman (1234), Derby, Derbyshire, England Dec 4, 2004 Bottled. Lovely stuff, I’m getting a real taste for porter this winter and this is a fine example. Black with a liquorice brown sheen, mocha nose, toasty and roasty, short dry finish with a sweet twist. badgerben (3586), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Nov 26, 2004 Black color with a medium head.
