Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
In the old brewery we had a problem with slugs getting into the brewery. As the beer leaves a trail down the glass as you drink it like a slug, that's how the beer was named. A delicious traditional porter with a full bodied taste of chocolate, coffee, blackcurrant and black cherry with a good aroma. A near black colour with a good white head when served through a tight sparkler.
Pale malt, crystal malt, black malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Dark Dark Brown. Light Tan Head. Carbonation...and Some Coffee Roasts. Little Sweet. Thin Line Between Porters and Stouts....

Pours a pitch-brown color with very little light coming through, a huge tan khaki head rests on top and threatens to stay there for the duration. Aroma is very sweet, with roasted malts and alcohol present. Flavor is sweet, dark fruit, roastiness, back to some dark fruit, and a clean, dry coffee finish. A great showing.

I really enjoyed this porter. Rich roasted coffee and licorice, with bitter chocolate in the background. Some berry fruit too. Smooth and satisfying. Dry finish. 500ml bottle from Richs Cider farm shop.

Bottle Pours a dark brown with a massive thick light tan head that when it finally subsides leaves thick sticky lacing down the sides. Aromas are mostly chocolate, coffee, a little smoke and a bit of grape jelly. Flavor is very mild and soft. Carbonation is fine but quite strong and makes it taste like foam. Gets in the way a bit. Feel otherwise is a bit thin but pleasant. Finish is where the smokeyness comes through for me. A bit plain, but pretty good and at 4.5%, 500ml will do just fine.

Bottle: Roasted blood brown with lots of thin carbonation, no lacing. Nose of light smoke, roast & chocolate, quite a bit of roast for a porter. Tastes nutty like pretzels and light fruits with most roast & caramel. Creamy acidic porter, quite tasty.

(sampled at cask-conditioned at Akkurat, Stockholm) Dark brown, small light brown head. Aroma of plums and dark unsweetend chocolate. Loads of black coffee in flavour with traces of mocca, and dried fruit. Long intense aftertaste of coffee, burnt malt, hay and caramel. Feels bigger than 4.5 ABV..

Cask conditioned - handpump - JDW Northampton. A beautiful black beer with a nice soapy looking head. The aroma is on the thin side but there are hints of chocolate malt. There are good coffee notes in the taste of the porter. It is nice and bitter and well balanced.
