| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 5, 2004 Chocolatey, toffee aroma. Extra-large head, foam that does not dissipate easily! Very dark ruby-brown colored. Dry, roasty, chocolatey malts dominate the flavor, with a nice burnt/hoppy, sharp, dry finish. DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 2, 2004 Bottle from The Offie, Leicester. Rather subtle aroma, with a medium lasting frothy, beige head, which leaves chunky lacing. Gentle introduction - smooth, then a crusty, bitter ending. Thinnish crispy mouthfeel. This has alight feel to it, but is tasty with enough interest throughout the gulp, and a nice lingering dryness. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England

Flavor is smokey with a bitter coffee and dark chocolate taste. I generally find porters to be one dimensional. But this has a little more character even for an old slug! harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA

A lightly nutty taste, with some nice roaste malt qualities followed by a bit of chocolate coffee toffee flavors. Not a bad porter. Almost has some stout qualities, nice and roasted in the finish.
