Pours mahogany black with a light creamy beige film head. Aroms is mild with light roastiness. Okay mouthfeel. Flavour is nicely creamy roasted, some chocolate and a weak peppery touch. yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 18, 2008 Århus2008 50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black and with a lacing tan head. Light bitterhops and roasted malt aroma. Flavour is almost tarish roasted malt with a dry hoppy note and a light liqourice note too. Ends dry and with a mild roasted acidic flavour. Lunkie (1020), Glen Iris, Australia May 9, 2008 Hop malt aroma. Dark brown colour with fair head and lacing. Malt hop flavour with smokey bitterness. Smooth palate. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA May 5, 2008 Pours very dark and thick, has a very acrid roasty aroma. Light flavors of chocolate and caramel, but has that mouthfeel of scraped off the bottom of the coffee pot roastiness. Not overly complex and pretty average. mjs (1445), Helsinki, Finland May 5, 2008 (Cask at St. Urhos on 2008-02-16) Almost black. Roastedness and sweetness in nose. Taste is mostly almost burned malts. Doesn’t improve, unfortunately. Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA Apr 23, 2008 16.9 oz bottle-Pours a dark brown almost black body with a nice big tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and a little chocolate. Flavor begins with burnt malt followed by some coffee and chocolate and then finishes dry. A little light or weak for a porter. Otherwise, a decent tasting brew. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 16, 2008 Coffee in aroma. Big white head on reddish tinged black. Bold taste spurred on by the fruit. Medium mouthfeeel. Above average porter. keith0718 (157), Olathe, Kansas, USA Mar 25, 2008 Pours light brown with good head with staying power. Alcohol in the aroma. Tastes ho-hum; indistinguishable from a brown ale--absolutely none of that divine toasty, buttery maple/caramel flavor I love in a good porter. Rather, average taste with lingering bitterness.
