COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
In the old brewery we had a problem with slugs getting into the brewery. As the beer leaves a trail down the glass as you drink it like a slug, that's how the beer was named. A delicious traditional porter with a full bodied taste of chocolate, coffee, blackcurrant and black cherry with a good aroma. A near black colour with a good white head when served through a tight sparkler.
Pale malt, crystal malt, black malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Dark pour almost black. Off white head. Didn't get much to taste due to my father's inability to get anywhere near dividing a bottle in half. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at the Windmill, Coventry, 22/04/15. Black topped with a decent tan head that retains well. Nose is roast malt, chocolate, light spice, charr. Taste comprises more chocolate notes, biscuit malt, toffee, light spice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, roasted tones in a semi drying close. Decent cask porter, good balance between sweet and roast/bitter.

Bottle won in a raffle. Spice, some coffee, roasted malt and dark fruits. Smooth palate, enjoyable though not as strong-flavoured as some porters.

Bottle from Tesco. Pours very dark almost black with a thick, forthy if a little loose tan head which stays in place, looks really nice. Smell is toasted malt, dark chocolate, jammy dark fruits. Taste is medium to strong bitter, toasted and mild sweetness. A little thin and watery in the mouth which is a bit of a shame but overall this is a nice Porter and one I am happy to buy again. Well worth trying!

Bottle at home. Deep dark brown colour, beige foamy head that quickly disappears. Unpleasant iron tone in the nose. Taste has milky coffee, chocolate and blackcurrant. A little bitter. Watery body, light mouthfeel, low carbonation. Not too memorable.
