3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
50cl bottle from Tesco’s, Wokingham. Bottle-conditioned, so a slightly hazy chestnut pour with a billowing, creamy head; rich, complex malty aroma, with some floral notes; buttery, caramel malt taste, with some berry fruit; and an elegant spritzy finish. A well-made, farmhouse-style bitter.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2014 Bottled: This unassuming golden orange beer kicked every-other beerz ass this X-Mas: Smell this beer , because it has the nicest grassy hop aroma ive smelt in fucken ages !!! , woody , musty and rich like an isolated log-wood cabin from a horror-movie . .I wasn’t expecting much from this because as everyone tells me , Im judgemental and narrow !This is twisting my palate .. ;floral chewy hops , caramel . notes of cricket wicket like grass resemblance .resin. I like the mustiness. . Maybe I got a bombastic bottle ? I don’t care , A damn nice ale !

3.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bitter and dry but very malty flavour. Not so much a floral aroma, in fact tastes like most if not all of its complexity must originate from the choice of grains and fermentables, not a variety of hops. Takes a while to unfold in its full complexity. Due to the high bitterness it takes some effort to get through all if the layers.

Bottle. Hazy mid-tan. Thought it might have been called a steam beer because of the steaming head it created, thick and frothy. Aroma is biscuit and farmyard. Flavour is malted milk biscuits and resinous bitter finish. I liked it.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cask at Arthur Robertson (JDW); Uninspiring English bitter, brown, feint hops, slight malt , watery texture and taste, why did I buy a full pint of this.
