Dark copper, a slight amber hue with a lasting, though fine white head, which left a tight, frothy lacing. There’s so much pear drop aroma on the nose it’s almost like spraypaint. Fortunately it’s not so evident on the tongue. Some pear drop, yes, but backed by fruity peach notes and a perfumey floral tone. Delicate, short bitterness in the finish, not much depth to the body, soft carbonation.

Orange aroma. Flavour is very hoppy, but with very sweet banana citrus behind - so sweet that at times it’s almost sickly. Liked the hops, hated the sweetness, and kept switching between enjoying it and feeling vaguely sick. Long lasting citrus hop dryness afterwards. So - overall, certainly a very tasty beer, but unfortunately a badly balanced one. downender (2648), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England

Aroma of hay, apricots, and grassy hops. Flavour started sweet, with some juicy fruits, grains and a moderate dry finish. Enjoyable. hughie (3090), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

Delightful sweet fruity aroma with pear drop and banana. Sweet sticky taste with honey, malt and mango. Late sharp bitterness. Excellent. harrisoni (6947), Ashford, Kent, England

Some syrup on aroma, some esters, some raw alcohol to be honest. It’s a strong golden ale along the Summer Lightning role, some peach and apricot flavours in the mouth. Not much hop on finish. Nothing bad but just a more fruit than malt flavour or hops. Fine.
