The name comes from the Pitchfork rebellion of 1685 the last battle to be fought on English soil of the Civil War. A golden bitter with floral citric hop aroma. It has a hoppy predominate taste which is slightly sweet and fruity and leaves you wanting more.
Pitchfork was judged to be the Best Bitter of the Year in 1998 at the Great British Beer Festival and has been a finalist in the last three years.
Pale malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Pours a slightly fogged gold with a good sized crème head that leaves a mass of lace on the way down. And oops, I got some sediment in the glass. Nose is pretty mild really. Not much going on except slight bitter tone and a mild hop. Flavor is an English bitter for sure. Smooth and consistent, but not very exciting really. Feel has a thicker body to the liquid with an odd sticky texture to it. Decent enough carbonation. Drinkable, sure. It is a good beer. But for the price? A bit too high for one bottle I have to say. Especially for not having any wild character about it.

Pour is a very cloudy golden with a large white head that stays around for awhile. Aroma is a super crisp hop with some biscuit and grass. Flavor is a bit citrus with some lingering hop and pine. Finish is very bitter but smooth. A good sipping beer and at only 4.3% you could a few of these in an evening.

Bottle. Cloudy orange color with a sandy and dense head that lasts forever. Hops and grass in the aroma. Very floral, fresh. Flavor is decent - light bitter finish, good hops. Very easy to drink. Tastes good, smells better.

From the Bottle: Rich, malty, and sweet aroma...but a hint of sour. Big head that goes beyond the top of the glass. Crisp hops with a dry sweetness flavor. Full and meaty mouthfeel.

(Bottle 50 cl) Very hazy golden with lots of impurities and a dense, off-white head that leaves some lacework. Lightly citrusy aroma. Medium body with notes of nuts and citrus and a somewhat astringent, leathery bitterness. 101207

Very pale golden beer. Aroma is lightly sulfurous. Herbal and lightly grassy. Quite noble smelling but lacks the zesty character that a beer like this could show off. Light Goldings-esqe spiciness with a kiss of lemony citrus behind the earthy pale malts.

Bottle 500ml from Waitrose, Lymington. Pours an orangey/amber, slightly cloudy, with a good off-white head. A citrussy hoppy aroma, with a hint of caramel, greets the nose. Nothing overly special about the flavour, just a good honest pint with a fine caramel malt and a decent finish. A good session beer.

on cask at 3 judges, glasgow. amber, light head, worrying aroma of burning rubber and licorice, hints of golden syrup but the main flavor was of baked beans and brown sauce. maybe ok as a breakfast beer
