Bottle. Pours gold with an enormous frothy white jagged head. Lots of speckled foam lacing left behind once it dies down a bit. Nose is hoppy and flowery with some lighter spiceiness to it. Taste is spicy and hoppy. Lingering orange peel and unripened grapefruit. Mild earthiness as well. Body is bitter and creamy with moderate carbonation feel. There’s some chalky dryness to this as well. Finishes with more earthy and spicy hops, bittersweet malts, dried fruits and hints of lemon meringue.

Pours golden and cloudy with a massive body. Distinctive hop aromas with citrus. Hops are good, but I generally don’t care for bitter.

More Brit shit. Hazy amber with frothy white head. Aroma was hops, grassy, floral, but all rather faint and unappealing. Thin and watery. Flavor was malty and bitter but unremarkable.

Pours with a five-finger+ white head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Cloudy amber color. Light-medium bodied and light carbonation. Nose is soapy and hoppy. Starts bitter with hops and finishes bitter, lingering bitter aftertaste. $5.75 for a 500ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

Bottle: Beautiful golden hue topped by a huge fluffy head and oustanding lace. Most pale ales should look this good (and all macro lagers). The aroma had a floral hop nose with additional toasted barley, hints of grapefruit and apple, dusty and earthy esters. The taste is quite smooth with a malty forefront, citric midesection and a mildly bitter finish. I get a bit of heather about as well. The aftertaste is dry and fruity. The feel is what I expect from most British bottled ales, lightly crisp and dry. I am impressed and equally shocked by the low average rating...hum, sorry but is as good as Bluebird.

Bright gold with a fluffy white head. Floral and citrus (grapefruit) hop aroma. Mouth filling body with a bitter grapefruit finish.
