4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
1 Pint, 9oz bottle
Rich gold color with small head. Semi floral and slightly bready aroma. Medium body that’s dry and refreshing (I wish I could get this on cask). Mild carbonation. This is what I want from an ESB.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Floral; grass and sulphar on the aroma. Light hop nose too.
Lacing is white and substantial, very thick and the appearance is golden-copper coloured Can taste light, fruity hops, vegatables, sulphuric and chemicals - pastuerised? Oil, cream, grass and straw prominent in the finist. Hop character is very basic and nothing at all to write home about. I think this bottle was skunked and had handling issues or poor bottling. It really wasn’t graat. Another dubious Champion Beer of Graet Britain.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at the Old Ship, Hackney, London on 6th October 2010. Hazy gold with thick creamy head of white foam giving some lacing. Yeast and hops in aroma then burst of grassy hop, touches of citrus and a little ash in-mouth. Hoppy finish that is quite dry and lasting. Fairly zingy mouthfeel.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask @ Old Green Tree, Bath. Bright amber-gold with thick cask head. Bright hoppy aromas and flavors are balanced by clean pale malts. Fruity juiciness complements the lingering hop bitterness. This one was so fresh and quaffable that another was warranted.
