The name comes from the Pitchfork rebellion of 1685 the last battle to be fought on English soil of the Civil War. A golden bitter with floral citric hop aroma. It has a hoppy predominate taste which is slightly sweet and fruity and leaves you wanting more.
Pitchfork was judged to be the Best Bitter of the Year in 1998 at the Great British Beer Festival and has been a finalist in the last three years.
Pale malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Cloudy copper color with a big foamy white head with persistence and good lacing. Nose of yeast and bread with some distinctly sweet fruity notes. First thing that hits in the taste is a strong (nearly overwhelming) tartness, like a not-quite-ripe apple, or even the "tart" part of a sweet-tart. There’s a sweetness and taste of hop in there but the tartness is too strong a component in the taste. It messes up the balance. Mouthfeel is a bit chalky, which isn’t so good either. Finish is fairly generic hop-bitterness and not unpleasant, but also not remarkable.

yalnikim (800) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 3, 2008
Tasted 03/06/2008. 500ml bottle from Regional Wines and Spirits. Pours an amazingly lacy, creamy headed treat. Hazy, pale gold, gentle motherly carbonation. On the nose is is pungently malty sweet, floral minerally yeast, with mild stonefruit notes. Strongly bitter and firmly hoppy. Perhaps a little harsh, with the minerally, sulphurous yeast astringency that covers the breadth of the palate. sweet, slightly under-attenuated malt sits in behind. Very soft, very silky mouthfeel (if you can look past the astringency). I reckon there’s problably an good beer lurking under a slightly problematic bottling that has travelled a little too far... Weston-super-Mare, you have to love that - one extra point for a great town name. I bet it’s a shit hole.

Bottle @ Aarhus, 2008.
Pours muddy pale amber with a fine creamy off-white head. Aroma is light caramel, good grassy hops. Fine mouthfeel, a bit light. Flavour is a little underwhelming compared to the aroma. Light nuttiness, okay hoppy pine finish. Pretty dry.
